I was talking to a powerhouse business woman recently. A true go-getter. One of those people who, when they have a business idea they get going and don’t rest until they’ve achieved their goal.
She was telling me how exhausting her mornings are. Despite how much she loves what she does, sometimes she finds challenging to start her day with clarity and direction. Knowing what to do. How to do it. Feeling grounded.
Without having a gazillion of thoughts coming and going at the speed of light, and getting jammed like on the M25 in rush hours.
Her schedule is intense. And that sense of exhaustion and mental chaos never leave her.
Do you feel that way too?

Still, so many don’t have a morning routine. They rush into their day as soon as they wake up in the morning. And keep on rushing until they go to sleep at night.
They put their automatic pilot on and that’s how they go through their day. It’s what I call the zombie trance. Are you one of them?
So, when I asked that powerhouse business woman whether she had a morning routine and how her morning routine looked like … oh boy … the look on her face …
I don’t have time!
Of course you don’t have time.
I don’t have time either.
Time is not something that you can own or possess.
But I can make time.
So can you.

There are so many morning routines around. You can spend hours on those. That’s not what I’m talking about here.
How much time am I talking about then?
What about the time that it takes for you to have your morning shower? You shower every morning – right? For how long? five, ten minutes? More? So what a better use of your time in the shower than setting yourself up for your day.
That’s how you maximise your time!
That’s how you make (more) time.
Here’s how it works:
While having your shower tomorrow morning, close your eyes for few moments and focus on the water that falls down
Notice how recharging, refreshing and strengthening it feels.
Stay with it.
Listen to it. Listen to the sound of the water.
Listen to its rhythm.
You’ll find yourself smiling for no reason. Keep on smiling.
You’ll feel the muscle of your face releasing all their tension.
Don’t be surprised if you get completely lost in that rhythm. Indulge yourself. And be in the moment.
